Rooted is for you! Whether you are new to church, questioning, or have been in church your whole life, Rooted will transform the way you live. (You must be an adult to attend Rooted)

What is the commitment?

Rooted is a significant commitment. We want to be up-front about that, but anything worth doing involves a certain amount of sacrifice. There is a cost for the study materials. To get the most of of this experience, our hope is that you make a commitment to attend all 10 sessions and participate in group discussions. If you cannot be there, group dynamics will be impacted. If you know you will miss more than two of the group meetings, we ask that you attend a different session of Rooted.

What experiences take place in Rooted?

There are three experiences designed to deepen some of the areas we explore. We’ll pray and fast together, share our faith, and serve together.

How is Rooted different than other bible studies?

Rooted is not just another Bible study. It’s not a typical discipleship program. This material originally came from Africa, where it had a transformational effect. The title was “Mizizi” – Swahili for “Roots”. It was developed by, Pastor Muriithi Wanjau of Mavuno Church in Nairobi, Kenya. It is unlike most programs or studies as it is an experience and a journey. It will involve five days of short homework preparation each week which include writing prayers to God, journaling, listening, and challenging one another to grow in new ways. If you’re willing to invest in this completely, your perspectives may be completely transformed.

Can I lead a group?

To be a facilitator for Rooted, you must first be in a group as a participant and complete the 10-week session. Once you have completed your participation we have an application for you to fill out. To verify completion of participation and to receive an application, please email frvc@frvc.ca

How do I pay the registration fee?

You can make the payment using PayPal (frvc.ca/give) or with Interac e-Transfer to frvc@frvc.ca. Please put “Rooted Registration” in the memo/notes.

Is childcare provided?

We do not provide childcare for Rooted
